How can i create service tasks based on customer

Hi ,

We have a requirement to create service tasks based on particular customer. for example if i select Account A then i want to show only the relevant incident types as A1, A2, A3 instead of all incident types available in the system.

Ina nut shell , can i customize in the portal the work order types/incidents for particular clients, so the don't see what does not belong to their business or agreement?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi KBN,

Sorry for that, I updated the link and it could be opened well. And you could try the solution provided by Dan Gittler. It could be a better way to do this.

After adding the 1:N, perhaps you can just change the view picker to filter by the account instead of an onload rule? What do you think Steve? For example, if you look at the current work order form, when you pick an asset, it filters by the selected functional location on the Work Order. You could follow this design and just create a view for incident type that filters by the account selected on work order.

    Hi Steve ,

Thank you for your response .

I created 1:N relationship between Account and Incident type entity. To follow the further steps i am afraid this link provided by you (docs.microsoft.com/.../addcustomview) is popping up as page not found.

    Hi KBN,

Yes, this can be achieved. However, it could be a bit complex.

Firstly, you need to add a 1:N relationship between Account and Incident type entity.

Then, you need to create onload/on change event(based on your demand)  on the Work Order Incident form.

In the script, you need to do the following things:

    1. Get Account ID based on Work Order ID.

    2. Use addCustomView(docs.microsoft.com/.../addcustomview) method to add a new view to incident type lookup field. The fetchXml content of view is got by Account ID.
