Merging Contacts/Accoutns / Concat two text fields

Posted on by 192

Hi

I got a requirement which is as following:

When I merge two contacts then there is a field importsource let's say contact A has importsource "crm2011" and contact B has importsource "SAP"

Now when I merge these two and contact A is the master and stays active, the importsource field of contact A should say "crm2011, SAP" and that should be the case no matter which field you would pck in the merge dialog.

I got it working with a plugin but it only works if you select the field from the master.

did anyone else had that problem/requirement?

regards

Manuel

You should be able to get the values from a combination of:

    • The UpdateContent InputParameter, which is of type Entity
    • The value in the subordinate record after the merge
    • The value in the primary record after the merge

You'll probably have to check all 3 to cover each scenario

It may also be possible to register a preImage on the plugin step, which would give a fourth option
