HI,

I am Upgrading from AX 2009 to AX 2012 R3, I have completed all   Preprocessing upgrade checklist in the source system and code upgrade check list in the target system but while I am trying to connect to source database from target system data upgrade check list, it’s not getting completed and next checklist not getting active.

Appreciate your suggestion on this

Thanks

BPS

    What steps did you follow during your upgrade? It seems strange that you completed all steps but it did not allow you to connect. Did you do data upgrade on seperate server and code upgrade on seperate server? Check you followed all steps from data and code upgrade guide. Also please show screen shot for the system what error you are getting in event viewer.

    Hi Faisal,

    I have 4 different server, 1- AX 2009, 2- SQL 2008 data base, 3- AX 2012R3 , 4- SQL 2012 database.

    AX 2009 is having database on SQL 2008 SP1, these two hosted on two different machine while AX 2012R3 and SQL 2012 installed on different machine.

    I had successfully completed all the task in source system (AX 2009) and also completed code upgrade task in ax 2012r3, I have been checked windows logs as well application logs on both server but found nothing,

    I sense that the system is able to connect source data base but might be not getting refreshed that is why its not showing completed and next item in check list is not getting active,

    any idea towards refreshing the checklist like some times it require to do manually  in source system by running job  SysCheckList::finished(classnum(SysCheckListItem_LivePreUpgrade));

    Thanks

    BPS,

    Did you select the Foundation Upgrade Model when installing the Database? If not, re-run the database installer and select the Foundation Upgrade when asked

    Thanks All,

    Issue has been resolved by using the same user  for ax service, AX login and connecting to data base.

    Hi Darshan,

    Please check  WCF configuration ( it must configure properly with out any error) in client configuration, and refresh it.
