    Hi Sriram,

When you have consumed items, you can use the adjustment feature as mentioned by Ludwig. In case you have items on-hand reserved for a project, can you then indicate how you manage this process? Do you have e.g. a warehouse per project?

    Hi Sriram GS,

A project does not have inventory associated.

It is not like a warehouse where you can just store items.

As soon as you post a project item journal, the item posted is gone from the inventory.

A possible workaround would be to stock the items in warehouses that have the same name as a project.

This would help for moving the inventory but it won't help for the costing; meaning that you won't see the costs in the project module.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Sriram GS,

Have you tested things for your projects/items?

Do you need any other help?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sriram GS,

What you do in movement journals has no influence on your projects.

You can do whatever is necessary there.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

So , we can transfer the inventory by doing the movement journal by deducting from one and adding to the other.

Is there any provision to mention or notify the project in the adjustment journals

    Please advise

    Hi Sriram GS,

If you post inventory items to a project - either through an item journal or a PO - then the items are taken out of the inventory and 'consumed'.

This is similar to posting an inventory adjustment journal that takes out the items from inventory.

Because of that the item is - from a financial perspective - already destroyed and cannot be shifted to another project.

What you can do though is posting an adjustment and shift the costs from project A to project B by making use of the project adjustment functionality.

Yet, this adjustment only moves the costs and does not affect your inventory.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
