OM Early Warning Report

Anyone work with the Order Management Early Warning Report?  My client is on SL2015 and has been evaluating the report.  They are looking at both the Item/Site (40790a) and Site/Item (40790c) versions.  These are the standard reports that come with the system and have not been modified

40790a appears to work OK.  It is grouped by item and for each grouping has summarized quantities for the item followed by supporting detail lines.  The detail lines tie into the quantities on the summary line.

40790c however appears to be problematic.  This version is grouped by site with an initial summary line again followed by supporting detail.  However the summary only reflects a single part and is not aggregated by site. The summary line is the followed by detail for all parts in the site that meet the report criteria.

Are there any known bugs or flaws in the report?  Are we missing something or is it working as intended?  Please advise.  Look forward to a response.

    RE: OM Early Warning Report

    Hello JG,

We reported this under bug 40599.  I doubt that it would be a candidate for a hotfix in 2015. If they fix it , it would go for 2018.

    Best Regards,

    RE: OM Early Warning Report

    Hello Carolyn,

Appreciate the follow up and information.  That does not appear to be the bug we are looking at.  I also tried running the report (Site/Item) and marked the "Include all items with activity".  Again the initial summary line only picks up quantities for the first item and does not aggregate totals for all items in the site.  Per the client, since this is a site/item report, it would make sense if the summary line totaled for all items in the site.

Is that a reasonable assumption?  If the client wants to take this further I could probably modify the report, however I just want to let you know in case it is worthy of further review by the dev team.

Let me know if you have any other feedback.  Thank you.

    RE: OM Early Warning Report

I did find this bug – 589 – first reported in 4.50, but it was fixed in 5.50:

                  1)  OM - Sales Orders - create several sales orders for items with no Qty Available using different Buyers and sites.

    2)  OM - Early Warning Report - set Report Format = By Item/Site, By Buyer/Item/Site, or By Site/Item - Print/Preview.

    3)  Note that on all three Report Formats, the Preview Tree displays all item, site, or buyers that should appear on the report, however the report only displays one page.  Also note that the Page counter on the upper left hand corner displays "1 of 1" and the page browse buttons are disabled.

    Expected Behavior:

Report must display all qualifying item, site, or buyer combinations as listed in the Preview Tree.

That’s the only bug I ‘m seeing reported on this 40.790 report

Site/Item – 40790c and as you stated, it only pulls a single item  HON-672L-P in site LA.

But there is a checkbox on the Options tab for "Include All Items with Activity”.  If this check box is selected, the report will print all items that had activity in this period.

So while I can say it seems to be working with regards to only displaying one item vs many (when you select that checkbox), I’m not able to dig into the data right now to determine why that particular part showed up versus all the other parts).  It might have to do with this particular part is the one that is most often used in transactions in that database.  The OM User Guide says this about that report:

With Customer Priority Scheduling (CPS) on, this report lists items that need to be evaluated for possible inventory issues concerning the amount of inventory-on-hand and the amount of demand. The report compares the planned shipment date against the sales order request date to provide an early warning of potential shortages in inventory.

    Report Format

Specifies which report layout to print. The options are:

    • • By Item/Site — Prints a report arranged first by inventory item ID, and then by inventory site ID.

    • • By Buyer/Item/Site — Prints a report arranged first by buyer, then by inventory item ID, and then by site ID.

    • • By Site/Item — Prints a report arranged first by site ID, and then inventory item ID.

    Options Tab

    Include all items with activity

If this check box is selected, the report will print all items that had activity in this period
