create a note through workflow when a ribbon button clicked(trigger)

I want to add a note to my lead timeline through workflow after clicking on ribbon button . any one help

    Hi,

    You can create new custom action, Add step in custom action to create Note same as workflow.

    Now you will call the custom action from ribbon workbench button.

    carldesouza.com/.../

    We can't directly call workflow from ribbon workflow that is why we need to use custom action.,

    Hi,

    For above request, you have two options as described below:

    1. Calling workflow from JavaScript: Here, follow below steps
    • Create one custom script and register it on custom ribbon button
    • In the script add code as described in below link:

             https://carldesouza.com/calling-a-dynamics-365-workflow-through-javascript/
