Case report - email body is exported as HTML

Hello fellow Dynamics people,

We have the requirement to export all case details to a Word/PDF. It is like a report of one single case, including all the details, notes, activities and also the email conversations.

Everything works just fine, it is easy to set up with the XML explorer in Word. But the problem is that the email-description field values are stored as HTML. Which results in an HTML export on the requested report. This makes it unreadable for humans, it also messes up the complete formatting of tables and page ranges.

This is how it looks. The first picture shows the first page of the report, which works fine, the second displays a table for email activities:

Picture 2:

Is there a way to let the system parse the HTML into plain text or something else that is readable? I know you can you can convert the email body to plain text with the help of workflows, but that gives not the desired results and it is not an efficient solution (then we have to store every email body twice).

Any help, ideas or tips are welcome!

    Hello,

You can use cell formatting feature of reporting services - docs.microsoft.com/.../format-text-in-a-text-box-report-builder-and-ssrs

    Hello Asif,

Thank you for your answer, but this is exactly what I say about using a custom solution and workflow to decode the HTML. It simply does not give the desired results and it also demands that we have to store every email in the system twice; one in HTML and one in plain text (decoded). That gives to much overhead. Non the less thank you for your support :)
