How can the Cross/Sell or Supplementary Items form Automatically appear?

If I am on a sales order line and I have an item where a supplementary or cross sell item is mapped I normally have to click the Sales Order line button > Calculate > Cross/Sell button.

When items don't have such opportunities the user would be wasting there time running through this manual process to check if an item has an upsell possibility or a supplementary item I can sell with the original item.

I recently saw on the organicsax blog Lachlan saved his sales line and automatically the dialog for the upsell item appeared.

Is there a control which enables this automation to assist the sales rep?

If you're using supplementary items, there is no way in standard AX to get anything to automatically pop up to tell the user that a supplementary item exists.

If you're using Up-sell/Cross-sell, AX will pop up a dialogue, per the video on Lachlan Cash's blog, but you must enable the 'Call centre' functionality for this to work.

If you've got call center working you'll know because on the sales order header the 'Retail sale' tick box will be ticked.

Hi Guy,

Do you mean using Up-sell/Cross-sell functionality isn't possible without activating retail functionality (call center) ?

I know this post is quite old but why in the last version of Ax or D365 for Operation and financial, enterprise edition the setup of Up-sell/Cross-sell is done (or partially done) in the Sales and marketing module ?

Anyway, by looking at the Lachlan video, my understanding is that Up-Sell functionality is doing the same than supplementary items but enhanced with the automatic pop-up.
