Dynamics Ax 2012 R2 Label issue

I have a problem regarding labelfiles. I need to manually move some files from environment a to environment b.

The model has where the label files resides have been moved from a to b earlier. But when I open the Label files node in b, my label file is missing but I can see some of my labels through the label editor. And when I right click the Label files node, select Create from file and choose my exported file I get an error saying:

"A file with the name AxCAPsv.ald already exists on the AOS. The import could not be completed."

Does someone have a suggestion on how to proceed?

    Hi Sebastian,

The labels are present in the model database, but also copied to the file system of the AOS server.

So in this case you can solve it by deleting the label files in the server folder.

Usually the folder is this path: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dyn.... \Server\[servername]\bin\Application\Appl\Standard"

    1- Stop AOS

    2- Delete files axCAP*.ald, axCAP*.alc and axCAP*.ali

    3- Start AOS

When starting the AOS the files are recreated from the model database.

Ok, but will deleting the label files in the folder affect the appearance of the aot?

    Hi Sebastian,

No, the AOT will remain. The AOT is reading from the model store. When deleting the files, at restart of the AOS also the files will be recreated from the model store/AOT.

You're right Arnaud, it did not change the aot, but it allowed me to import the ald files I had. It seems that the label store was corrupt in some way because I don't think the labels existed in the model store, just as files, and that's why I could not import the new file.

Anyway, I really appreciate the answer.

    /Sebastian
