Error printing checks

Prior to today, we have been able to print checks from Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 2010 with no issue. Today, however, multiple users receive the following error when attempting to print checks:

"Cannot access this form because the dictionary containing it is not loaded"

No users or roles have been changed for quite some time. Any idea what may be causing this?

GP 2010 version 11.00.2417.000

Thanks

The most likely cause is the loss of drive mappings. I would restart this computer and then login into the computer first making sure all your drive mappings are restored. If that does not work, please update this case and we will move onto Plan B.

To extend on what Richard noted, the Dynamics.set file, found in the root directory of the application holds the path to the Reports and Forms dictionaries.  These dictionaries exist if any reports or forms are modified.

The Dynamics.set file can be viewed using Notepad.  You can then verify the pathname.  If the pathname is correct, check that the dictionary is in that file.

If it isn't there, then for some reason it has been moved or deleted and you will hopefully be able to get a copy from a file server backup.

The pathnames will look something like this:

    :C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2015/Dynamics.dic

    :C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2015/Data/FORMS.DIC

    :C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2015/Data/REPORTS.DIC

Generally the Dynamics.dic points to the local C drive and the Forms.dic and Reports.dic to a shared network drive.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

    Heather
