Leave and abence accrual: 1.06 days / month, after 1 year 5 days extra

Hi everybody,

My client has the following question concerning leave and absence accrual:
  • accrual of 1.06 days/ month
  • at the anniversary of the plan: an extra accrual of 5 days
  • afterwards, again an accrual of 1.06 days/ month.

Is this possible in D365?
Thanks a lot!

    Hi LenCo_89,

It's possible in D365. You just need to create a leave and absence plan.

Define leave and absence plans in Dynamics 365 Human Resources for each type of leave you offer.

Leave and absence plans can accrue at different frequencies, such as annually, or monthly.

You can also define a plan as a grant, where a single accrual occurs on a specific date.

    Best Regards,

    Charlotte

    Hi Charlotte

Thanks for the answer. When I use the accrual, the employee will receive the 1.06 days/ month. He does not receive the 5 days after a year (13 months). Is there something wrong in my setup?

Please follow one of the methods in the screenshot below to make changes:

    or

After doing so, whether the employee received an additional five days of leave?

Thanks a lot. I tested your setup but it is not working.

I think my question was not clear:

Start date of the plan: 1/1/2022
    Every month: 1.66 days
    At 1/1/2023: 5 days extra

Now, the accrual is based on the 12 months of service of a worker and not the anniversary of the plan (12 months)?

    Hi Len,

this is an interesting one and will only have an imperfect solution in the system.

If you add a grant (not accrual) of 5 days to each accrual tier, everyone on the plan will receive 5 days upon 1/1/202X. It would be up to the HR team to then strip the five days off the people who have not been on the plan for a year yet, which is best done via the LeavebanktransactionV2 entity in the Excel workbook designer. Test it in your sandbox.

If I may be so bold, I would encourage this business to adopt a system-led approach to HR and instead base the five extra days off months of service instead. If you use HR in F&O, you may develop a custom feature that can account for the exact requirement, but out of the box, I believe what I have described above is as good as you will be able to get it.

    Hi Sytse,

Thanks a lot for the answer. Can you please send me a screenshot of the setup?

Employees will not receive the 5 days at the start of the plan (e.g. enrolment on 1/1/2021= start balance =0) after 12 months (1/1/2022) they will receive 5 extra days. Every month there is an accrual of 1.66 days.
