Hi guys,

As the question states. I am new to Nav however have used and implemented AX12 before which used Cost Centres and Hierarchies. Nav however seems to use Dimensions and Accounts instead of CC.

Can we set up Hierachies at all with CC's?

Thanks

NAV has quite a straight-forward structure: it has Accounts in the CoA (which is basically flat structure; you can have summarizing accounts being on higher level than the posting accounts). Then, you have Dimensions, which are also flat: any dimension and dimension value can be used with any account by default. You can setup any meaning of any dimension, e.g. use one of those as CC - then you can assign values of this dimension, by default, to any posting account in your chart. Then, you can further on limit certain dimension values on certain accounts using default dimensions (msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh167859(v=nav.71).aspx) and dimension combinations (msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh169629(v=nav.71).aspx).
