Allocated vs Ordered Allocated on the Open Sales Order Lines enquiry - What's the difference?

Hi Guys

Not sure if this is the right forum but I do have a number of questions about AX. I've tried my best searching for answers but with no great success so far - so here's one to get me started...

Under the 'Open Sales Order Lines' enquiry screen I see columns for both 'allocated' and 'ordered allocated' - could someone tell me the difference between the two?

I'm kinda' wondering if it may be something to do with allocations against stock that is physically in the warehouse as opposed to stock that is yet to arrive, but I could be wrong.

All contributions gratefully received,

Cheers - lee

    Hi Lee,

Allocated is not a term that I am familiar with AX using in relation to Sales order lines. I think it most likely that those two columns are customisations that your organisation has, or part of an AX add-on product that your organisation has purchased. You have some other adjustments to that screen too; for example it is not easy to get the Picked column on to there.

This makes it difficult for us to say what those columns are supposed to show you.

Hi Delores - Thanks for getting back to me on my allocated vs ordered allocated question.

So nice that you addressed your reply to 'lee lee' - it's what my family called me when I was a kid.

Lee, with only one syllable, couldn't be shortened - so they decided to make my diminutive longer and came up with 'lee lee'

    Hi Lee Lee,

I think allocated refers to stock in the warehouse and ordered allocated is stock ordered (if reserve ordered items is enabled).

Hi Ludwig - Thank you so much for responding to my request.

    The menu entry is here

and the screen appears like this

    right.jpg

Although the vast majority of lines have an entry in neither, one or the other column, there are a few with both an allocated and an ordered allocated quantity as this excel output shows

    Any ideas Ludwig?
