Candidates - "work experience", Education, Skills - can't edit

Hi there,

I am in the process of teaching myself D365 for Talent - using a trial instance (Built today).

I have created a talent pool, and uploaded a CV.

Under the profile it shows "work experience", Education, candidate details (I can edit this) and Skills

I cannot see how I can add information or edit any of these.

I have tried applying through the candidate portal and this also doesn't give me an option.

Also, should I expect Talent to be able to search the content of the uploaded CVs (if they are in work/pdf)?

Hope you follow me.

Thanks

Duncan

    Hi @Duncster,

I am almost at the same stage as you (created my first Talent Trial about a week ago), so I hope we don't make each other worse, but I know the answer to your question.

As per the doc (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/talent/attract-talent-pools )

Only candidates can update their skills, education history, and work experience..

The only way to get skills, education and experience in the system is when the candidate applies from the portal.

See when I applied with this profile from the portal

    then these propagated to Talent

Hope that helps. Good luck with the discovery.

    Thanks,

    HI DD

Thank you - that works. It is a shame that a recruiter can't add their own tags to CVs for easier searching.

    Good luck with the training!

    Hey, thanks.

I am sure our paths will cross again on the Talent discovery journey.

I can kind of make sense of why it works like that.

***Speculation alert*** Just speculating here, but with GDPR and legal stuff in mind, giving the recruiters the ability to change the candidate skills might make it difficult to argue against discrimination and favoritism later on.

Let's say the hiring manager likes the picture on the CV of candidate1. But not Candidate2. Candidate2 has provided an exact match of the skill set as the job description except for 1 skill.

You dont want the recuitor to be able to modify the profile for Candidate1 and add all of the skills needed, making them look like the better candidate  (when they don't have any of it).

    ***END of Speculation alert***

Glad it worked for you! Can you mark the answer as verified, please?

    Thanks,

    -DD
