NAV 2009 Restore to get access to Database Tables

Dear Community,

I am in a situation where my company has taken over assets from a bankrupt company and some of those assets has data associated with them inside a Navision 2009 System.

My company does not currently use NAV 2009 - so the question is if there is a way to restore the "FIN.FBK" backup to an SQL Server database and gain access to the data?

Best regards
Brian

FBK is the old database backup format. If they're using NAV 2009 with SQL Server, you can create a SQL backup and restore it as a new database. You don't need to have NAV.

If they're using NAV 2009 classic database (proprietary, FDB) you can restore as a new database with C/SIDE, but you need to have NAV.
