Posting of Job journal Line using "Suggest Time Sheet Lines " function

Hello Team,

I am getting below error message when I try to post from Job Journal using “Suggest lines from Time sheet” though I am having all access. On other hand when I create Job Journal from Job planning lines, it allows to post.

Can anyone please suggest if I am missing something or its with NAV.

I suppose the attached error message didn't went...please find the below error message in line to above email.

"You do have the following permissions on TableData Time Sheet Posting Entry: Insert"

check the permissions of your user.

do you have role SUPER ?

does your user have that needed permission. for that checkout permissions of the assigned permission set of your user.

also check table permissions of the table in the error message.

Hello Jonathan,

Yes...user is been assigned with Super permission.

I am wondering as why its allowing to post when I creating Job Journals with Job planning lines but when I create Job journal lines by using Suggest Lines from Time sheet...it shows the error message.

Please Advise.

Rishi,

Normally the customer license does not have permission to insert into the entry or posted tables, we provide indirect permission to those tables by giving permissions to the respective posting codeunit, i believe the codeunit which is getting called in these two process may be different and one of them does not have permission to that table.

For example if you check sales post codeunit properties you see in the permissions it give access to all the tables it will access, if those permissions are not set and even if you have SUPER permission you will get the error.

Try to run the debugger and check which codeunit is trying to access that table. I believe it may be a bug but for now the best solution would be run the debugger and check which codeunit is accessing it.

Thanks Suresh for your reply.....So does it mean that its NAV functionality which is not working as intended and we cant make use of this function ("Suggest lines from time sheet "). ? Have you came across such error while working with this function or its just with us which is showing this error.

I have not come across this and i am not saying you can use that function, it may be a bug or result of a customization. Which build is your NAV 2015 ? i have not seen that error fix in any cumulative update, so it may be result of a customization you have done, that's why i asked you to debug so that we know which codeunit is calling that function.

We are using NAV 2015 build 8.0.37874.0.....

I don't see that error in any released cumulative updates so it could be a customization or was never reported. Run the debugger and let us know the results.

As suggested, Its showing error with Codeunit 950 ( Times sheet Management) having function "CreateTSPostingEntry".

Any suggestion?
