Hi Friends,

We know AX 2009 is installed with .Net Framework 3.5. What if we want to use 4.0 and later.

We can install it side by side, but, how do you make sure AX code use 4.0 method.

Thanks,

River

.Net Framework installations within Windows are stand-alone. The AX executable and DLLs are compiled for that specific target framework which you have mentioned. It does not matter what else do you install additionally.

You can't load .NET 4.0 (CLR 4) libraries to .NET 3.5 (CLR 2). But you could have a separate .NET 4 application and communicate with it from AX (e.g. via web services).

    Martin,

Can I create a wrapper dll on 4.0, then reference dll in AX? That's what I try to find out, will the dll use Framework 4.0 or 3.5.

    Thanks.

A library requiring .NET 4.0 for can't be loaded to a .NET 3.5 process. Period.

Following up post, we actually have to use TLS1.2 to communicate with third party web service, which is only supported by Framework 4+, that is why I post question to find out if we can use .NET 4.0 or later.

My colleague found the solution, which is registry setting, to force AX code using TLS1.2, that solved problem.

    What is your problem? TLS1.2?

If so, I don't have registry setting stuff, but, I believe you can google it find out.

    Udhay,

You need to update registry entry, I don't know which one, but you should be able to google it.
