Great Plains Migration

Hello, my company is migrating Great Plains 2015 to another company and set of servers. We do not plan to add companies to this new environment. Security and least privilege mdoel is very important:

1. Do I have to run GP Utilities on every installation or any installation since this is a migration?

2. If I have to run GP Utilities, does the GP User have to have any SQL Role permissions?

3. Can the migration occur without a Systems Role Permission?

4. How does that first user get logged in?

I am used to being the SQL administrator in the old environment but will not have that in the target environment. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I want to make a couple of changes.

Can the migration occur without a SQL Server Role Permission?

If Utilities have to run every time, I want to be able to do that with a user that has Database only roles and permission and not SQL Server Roles.

You are going to need to run utilities on each instance. There are several functions that need to be performed by GP utilities. You may also require a separate GP license for each instance. You run utilities as 'sa'
