When working with the Lead entity record in Dynamics 365, when we open the lead record form and click on the "Qualify" button to convert the lead, we get a duplication detection popup when our contact duplicate detection rules catch that the lead to be converted has a potential duplicate contact record in the system. This is good. However, if we don't open the lead record, and if we simply select the lead from the view, such as the open leads view, and if we click the Qualify button from the view, the system just goes ahead and convert the lead to a contact record without triggering the duplicate detection rule. Has anyone experienced this behaviour? Is this by design or should this be considered as a bug in the system? Because if the end user tries to convert lead records this way on the lead view, they would essentially bypass the duplicate detection rules, resulting in duplicate contacts created.
Any advice would be appreciated.
