Administrator Documentation/Help

Posted on by 14
Hi,

I'm having trouble finding /how to/ documentation for administrators.

Everything I search for yields results that explain what a sales process is, or explain what an opportunity is, for a beginner Sales Rep.    I can't find any documentation that tells me, as the System Administrator, how to edit those types of things.

For example, these Lead Stages are nothing like what my company does.  Not even close.  I need to be able to edit them, name them, and associate the appropriate tasks with each stage according to the business sales process developed in my company.  But when I search /Lead Status,/ /Lead Stages,/ /Edit Lead Stages,/ /Edit Lead Process,/ etc., I only get results for things like /Create or Edit Leads/ or /Qualify and Convert Leads,/  which are clearly designed for your average Sales Rep.

I need the information about changing the stages/statuses in the System Administration so that my Sales Reps can follow our company business processes.  How do i location that information and other information that will tell me, as the admin, HOW to change the things that Sales Reps access?

Thank you

    Hi Partner,
As i mentioned before, you can go to Settings > Process and switch to Business Process to edit original BPF:
--BPF name has shown in the first block: my bpf name is Lead to Opportunity Sales Process.
Double-click it, then you can update all:
Or you can create another new BPF and apply it.
The following documentation can guide you how to create one BPF:
    Note:
You need add new created BPF to the app you are using:

The highlighted part is exactly what needs to change.  The article you shared tells me what a business process is, it tells me why I should use a business process, and it tell me how I'm supposed to be able to view the "views" that already exist.  It also shows me how to see opportunities using that process that already exist.

It does not tell me HOW to change the things that exist in there.  We do not have step called "qualify."  We do not have a step called, "develop."  We do not have a step called, "propose."

Those things need to be changed to meet the needs of my company.  I do not see any documentation anywhere that explains how a system administrator can actually change the things in Dynamics that are useless to us.  I want something that tells me where that stage is called "Develop" and how I change the name to it.

    Hi Partner,
Not quite sure what exactly you need to edit?
Based on the keywords you provided: lead stage and process, perhaps you mean the one highlighted on the following screenshot?
If this is what you mean, the keyword you should search for is Business process flow(BPF):
For the lead, it has two OOB BPFs, you can edit them or create new:
    --Go to Settings > Process:
