F&O doesn't need BarTender to print labels. It needs ZPL, which it can send directly to the relevant label printer to trigger the label print.
You could use BarTender designer to create the label design, and then I believe you can do Print to file, which will output a text file containing the ZPL for the label design. You need to be careful that BarTender designer is outputting the design as commands, and not encoded some of it in an unreadable string.
Once you have the ZPL, you can insert placeholders for the values (Item number etc), as described here
