Dear All,
Email notification is setup. Once the leave request is raised by an employee an email is triggered by the D365 HR application to the manager.
1. But the manager is not able to apporve it directly from the email ( a link is available in the email so that he can login directly to the D365 HR application and apporve/reject).
2. The employee is not receiving a email communication that the leave request is approved/rejected?

You will need to configure Leave approval workflow in order to send confirmation alerts to employees. There is a very nice article on this very topic and should give you what you are looking for.
