It seems like a bug, but I want to be sure it's not a 'feature':

I have a product family with a text property with a default value. In the product family I have added a product that should inherit the properties (and their default values) from the parent family.

However, the value of the property, when the product is added to an opportunity, stays empty.

Only when I override the default value of the property on the level of the (child) product, that value is inherited when adding the product to an opportunity...

If the above is a 'feature', then what is the purpose of being able to define default values on the top of the product hierarchy, when the leaf nodes do not honour the default values coming from above in the hierarchy...

Hi,

Have you added custom plugins, JavaScript, workflows, automation flows, and other customizations that result in removing the default value of the text property when the product is added to the opportunity?

If you haven't added any customizations, then this may be a bug.

The "preview" of the Product does show the inherited default value; however, when I add the product to an opportunity, the value for the property is empty...

I did not reproduce your issue.

Is the default value of the text attribute inherited from the product family null before adding the product to the Opportunity?
