How to debug Dynamics Developer Tools Add-in?

Good day all!

I'm working on specific Add-ins in Visual Studio. It should helpful for our team.

I'm talking about https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/dev-tools/developer-tools-add-ins

But, I faced with trouble that I can't debug it.

Maybe someone could share information how to do it?

    Simply using Debug > Start debugging should start a new instance of Visual Studio with the add-in loaded and attach the debugger to it.

    6165.error.jpgMartin, when I'm trying to do with - I get an error "A project with Type of Class Library cannot be started directly.   In order to debug this project, add an executable project to this solution which reference the library project. Set the executable project as the startup project"

    Hmm, weird. Maybe it's not a normal VS add-in project and I've already forgot about it. It's some time since I've played with it last time.

    All right, do the steps manually: start another instance of Visual Studio with the add-in and use Debug > Attach to process to attach the debugger of your VS instance to it.
