Email address disabled - Dynamics GP 2010

Posted on by 6
Hi,

I have a client who is using GP 2010. They want to email sales invoices to customers. But customer email addresses are disabled, see below image. How to enable the same ?

Thanks,
Shyam

I agree with David, if you want to email out of Dynamics GP, you need to upgrade from GP 2010 with the depreciation of Basic Auth.
If you upgrade you will see the option for MAPI in the window like below.

    Hi Lisa,

Those are Company Internet User Defined fields. You can change the label over there.

    Thanks,
    Shyam.

    Hi David,

Please see below System Preferences window, there is no Server Type.

I think it works only if using a MAPI -compliant e-mail service. Client is using office 365, so whether it is compatible?

    Thanks,
    Shyam.

In addition to what David mentioned, is there possibly an add-in product involved?  Those "RabbSupv_1" fields look non-standard.  Here is what the window looks like in current GP Sample Company:

I checked the source code and for those fields to be enabled, check that the email option is set up under System Preferences (Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > System).

You might be able to get MAPI working, but I very much doubt you will get Exchange working as the authentication requirements for modern Exchange will not work with GP 2010.

Support for GP 2010 ended in Oct 2020.

I would highly recommend updating to a supported version of GP before Microsoft will not allow it.

    Regards

    David
