new account structures not working, cannot see main accounts in GL journals

Hi all,

We have a requirement to separate some GL accounts into a new account structure to apply an extra financial dimension to these accounts only. Problem is when I create a new structure to put one new test GL account in (by duplicating the original and editing it), I get the message 'the main account x doesnt exist in the account structures set up for the ledger when I try to do even a simple GL journal using that account.

The GL account has been removed from the original account structures, and both have been activated fine. This problem exists before I try to add in a new dimension.

We have lots of account structures set up prior to upgrade to R3, haven't set up any new ones since.

Anyone else seen this?

Hi AXfinance,

What Ax2012 Version do you use (r3, cu9,10,...)?

Have you already checked the available hotfixes on LCS?

Can you actually make any change to your account structure without running into an error?

R3 CU10, I can make changes to the account structures fine, they edit and reactivate fine, I just cant 'see' anything in any new ones from a GL journal, and requisitions/PO's set to post to a GL account in the new ones doesn't work (no accounting distributions).

If you do not copy the account structure but create it manually with the new account(s) included, does your lookup work?

Again, may be I am over-simplifying the resolution, but did you check General Ledge > Setup > Ledger and checks whether the new account structure has been added there?.

Please mark the answer as verified if it resolves the issue.
