Release to warehouse - Quantity too high 0 Shipments created

Hi

Has anyone come across this message before? I have spent hours trying to recreate it, but cannot. It occurred as a result of customer testing.  I cannot move the orders along at all.  The quantities are reserved on the order line from auto reservation - removing the reservation and adding it again didn't help.   I did notice the load lines exist in the whsloadlines table, but with no load id assigned. I removed these entries from the table, but still got the message when I tried again. It seems to fail at whatever the first step is, in the release to warehouse process? On a side issue, I noticed quite a few entries in this table without Load Ids! I have created orders using exactly the same customer/item and they release without any problem at all.

Thanks

    Hi,

If the exact error is 'The quantity is too high', it is label @WAX683, which is only used by the validateQty method on the WHSLoadLine table. I can't read code, but the message appears if something is greater than the 'qtyLeftToLoad'. Digging further, is (the InventTransId of the) order line shown if you open the View 'WHSQtyOnLoadView'.

Thanks Guy, will dig a bit deeper using this info and report back.

I'm having this same exact issue.  Have either of you figured out exactly what's going on here? I have checked WHSLoadLines which has two records marked as invalid with zeros in the QtyLeftToStructure(I don't see a QtyLeftToLoad) field and I do have two records in the WHSQtyOnLoadView as Guy predicted.  Any thoughts?

    Thanks

We are having the same issue at our client.

I had to dig into this issue extensively because customer orders in KG and inventory is in LB. The validateQty method on the WHSLoadLine table can calculate quantities with fractions while your inventory unit of measure is rounded to a whole number. If they are not exactly the same, even off by .01. the validation fails. In CU10 they added the allow over pick feature which should help this. In the meantime I had to modify the method to round down. Same issue will apply to packing units. I.E if the batch reservations are not in exact case quantities, The validation occurs one batch at a time and will fail the validation.

I've seen a couple of examples of this 'Quantity is too high' error. It happened first when something interrupted the 'Release to warehouse' process (a customisation to write out some XML failed because of lack of permissions to a folder).

But then we saw an example that could be created in standard AX. If your sales order has the message 'The selected address is no longer effective', AX cannot successfully release the order but was nevertheless creating a Load line (a record in WHSLoadLine) which has no associated Load or Shipment. When you attempt to release the order again (even after you have fixed the address) AX will display the error 'Quantity is too high'. The fix for this problem is hotfix 3056762 'Cannot release sales orders to warehouse after changing a customer address (the original address is expired)', which is included in R3 CU9.

I had the same issue and the problem was the item I was using in the Sales order was belonging to a Storage dimension group that was not enabled for warehouse management processes....
