Create a button on the action pane.

Hi,

I want to create a button on the action pane in Dynamics AX 2012 R3. The button when clicked will open a form and needs to filled up. I searched on google and found this document "https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg844658.aspx" but I am not sure how to start with.

Should I start with creating a form/menu item for the button that will open the form or create a random button. Also when I created a button on the action tab of the design node in the form I was not able to view my new button created. How can I see it?

Is there any nice documentation or video I can refer to for the development.

I am new to the AX developing and so this may sound like the basic question for some. Please be kind to guide me with the same. Thanks

    Hi D_Meethu R,

    1) Create a form you want to open. Test that it is working ok, you can open it from AOT msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg879955.aspx

    2) Create new display menu item for this form msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa639737.aspx

    3) Add new menu item button on action pane with newly created menu item from 2. msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc601712.aspx

    We are not aware, how much urgent, you need to deliver this task. If you have plenty of time, you may start from reading development manuals.
