Ending Blocking in Online Session

Hi all,

Last few month I'm facing of "ending-blocked" session in online users in AX 2012 R3. And on the same time other users session also got the same issue if they are working on same form and user session got hanged. I'm facing this issue when users working on Payment Journal, Invoice Journal and General Journal. Also it occur when users trying on open the Trial Balance list page or Main Account Form. I'm facing issue again and again for same day.Please suggest me.

    Hi Ax Query,

    Before just killing a process, try to get information from the SQL server about the activity and try to link e.g. blocking sessions or long running queries to the user sessions. You can see what SQL statement which is being executed. From that SQL statement, you can try to trace back which AX process was started.

    Hi André,

    Thanks for reply. I noticed that this issue is occur just after the "Year End Process". Before that system is working properly.

    And user is try to kill session when system hang for long period. And on same time in online users, User session show in "Ending-blocked".

    And in Trail balance form when user changes the Financial dimension set and run the report. And that time other user try to post entry in Invoice Journal or Payment journal system got hang.

    We tried to solve this issue by restart the AOS services but after that same issue happen again.

    Kindly Suggest.

    Hi Ax Query,

    "Ending-blocked" can occur if you tried to end sessions manually. Can you confirm this? If users sessions are being killed, what would be the reason for this?

    When opening the Trial balance or main accounts, there might be an automatically update on balances which will be started to ensure the balance data is up to date. You can prevent long running tasks on the user if you put the balance updates to run in batch every minute, hour or another frequency.

    Sometimes, the sessions indeed keep hanging. Then a restart of the AOS service(s) can solve this issue.
