Is there a way to have a test environment of D365 Marketing?

Our client uses D365 Marketing on a daily basis, and they have asked for our assistance with the transition. We want to avoid interrupting their work or causing any disruptions. Therefore, I was wondering if it’s possible to have a test environment for D365 Marketing. Has anyone gone through this type of transformation before, and if so, did you perform it directly on the production environment?

    Hi,

There you can test the transition. Especially when you want to train or test processes with your users, i suggest using a test or trial environment.

    Hope this helps!

reating a sandbox environment in Dynamics 365 Marketing is a great way to test changes without affecting your production environment. Here are the steps to set up a sandbox environment:

    1.

      Access the Admin Center:

    2.

      Create a New Environment:

      • In the left-hand menu, select Environments.

      • Click on + New to create a new environment.

      • Fill in the required details, such as the name and region for your new environment.

      • Under Type, select Sandbox.

      •

    3.

      Add a Database:

      • Ensure that the option to create a database for this environment is set to Yes.

      • In the Add database step, set Enable Dynamics 365 apps to Yes.

      •

    4.

      Configure the Environment:

      • After the environment is created, you can configure it further by adding users, setting up security roles, and importing data as needed.

      •

    5.

      Testing and Validation:

      • Use this sandbox environment to test new features, customizations, and integrations without impacting your live data.

      •

For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Microsoft Learn article on managing sandbox environments1.
