Is it possible to read data using eConnect?

Posted on by 75,730

I have always used eConnect to write data into GP. Is it possible to use it to read data? We have a situation where we are currently sending files to and from an SFTP server via text files. We want to refine this by allowing a remote warehouse to be able to pull data out of GP directly. Are there tools that make this possible? If there are what are they?

Yes, use Dynamics GP web services or use WCF custom web service for it.

Thanks. I had to go to 5 of my installations of eConnect until I could find one that had the samples folder. All of them claimed the samples were installed but only the last one actually had them.

Now the next question if the WMS server is hundreds of miles away is there anyway to set it up to be able to pull data out of GP? I am hoping there is some kind of web interface that can be setup.
