Avoid Calculation of Flow Filed - NAV 5.0

Hi all,

i have a database with huge data and have flow filed in one of the master table , when ever i open card form it is calculating flow fields, since the data is huge it is taking long time and very slow to open the card form. is there any possibility to avoid calculating flow filed, when opening a form.

Hi Marshal,

Is it Item List or Chart of Account? It was performance headache when we first migrated NAV from 6 to 2015 for a customer. NAV 5 and 6 manage FlowFields better than NAV from 2013 (latest NAV 2016 is still not good). There are 2 things you can try:

- Hide unneeded FlowFields.

- Set ValueIsFilter=true when define CalcFormula.

If still not get better, you should think about Normal Fields.

Besides, I don't know why Microsoft not allow us to choose suitable Key when define FlowFields CalcFormula? It will be a big difference of performance.

Hi,

Field must be setup as "visible" = False on you page.

NAV only calculates visible fields.

Remove the field from the form and that should take care of it.
