Is there an issue with Management Reporter and budget values? Every time our client enters new budget values or updates previously entered budget values I need to rebuild the datamart. They are running 2.12.16007.0.
Hi,
This is the actual document page for the MR 2012 and the download link to the current build & past versions is at the bottom of the page:
Yes, 16012 is the corrected build that will fix the bug with the budgets in the Legacy provider.
Hi Greg, is the 16012 the corrected build?
Hi Greg,
I am also having the budget issues on this version, really struggling to find previous versions as the PDF from the new Docs website are all pointing to Customer Source which is no longer present. Please can you help out with a link to a different version where budgets are working?
There is a bug in the 16011 build of MR. If you use the Legacy provider, budget columns will show actual amounts. This only happens with the Legacy provider and only with the 16011 build. If you use the data mart or any other build, the budget column will display correctly.
We are working on getting this fixed and should have the corrected 16011 build uploaded soon.
Ali,
check your default company selected in MR for the Lecagy connector when you look under the Company menu.. In the past I've seen weird things when another company was selected by default.
You can see the default company in the status bar at the bottom of MR Designer.
Here is an idea for troubleshooting:
-Set your default company in Management Reporter to be the company that isn't printing the budget information properly. (This step is important as it is where MR is going to look for default data.)
-Open a column that is not printing the budget. Navigate to one of the budget columns. Do you see your budget in the list? If so, select it.
-Generate the report. Does it work properly for that one budget column? If so, there is some nuance between the budget IDs in the Data Mart and Legacy data sets.
If it still doesn't work, describe the report building blocks in this forum. (Is it a consolidation report? What are your fiscal periods? Have you created a new column with just the Data Mart budget?)
Oftentimes with MR, the solution is to start from plain vanilla building blocks and add complexity until you either recreate the problem and/or have new error-free building blocks.
I only ran it on the budget master. I can try the entire financial module. Thanks Richard, will try and let you know how it goes.
Have you tried running check links on the complete financial series? Make sure you perform a backup first.
Thanks Richard, I rebuilt the datamart, re-did the legacy install, uninstalled and reinstalled Management Reporter, re-did the MR upgrade, create a new Management Reporter Database, all ended up with the budget column showing the same data as the actuals column.
I used a different budget id in the column definition, it still shows the incorrect data i.e. just displays the actuals values instead of the budget values.
The GL00200 and GL00201 tables do not have any missing data.
I am led to believe it is either a bug with MR and this version of GP or that there is some issue with my GP data that is causing this. What is strange is the report generates correct using the data mart but not the legacy.
