Thanks Martin for your valuable input. Adding project collection in URL solved my issue.
I think you should include the project collection in the URL.
Martin,
Thanks for correcting me. I am using R3 CU9 only.
I am using team explorer 2013
URL: http://serverIP:Portnumber/tfs
The above URL is accessible from team explorer machine/AX server.
Well... Why do you have a Visual Studio 2010 there, despite the fact that AX uses VS 2013 (since R3 CU8, as discussed above)? And if you don't, how could you update VS2010 if you don't have it?
Anyway, stop wasting time with it. As I explained, this would be needed if you had AX version lower than R3 CU8 and you said you have CU9, so it's not applicable to you.
Or did you give us wrong information about your version?
Which version of Team Explorer do you have installed?
What URL are you using to connect to TFS?
Yes that's right.
I tried connecting to TFS 2017 from AX. Below is the error I got:
Server was unable to process request. ---> TF400367: The request could not be performed due to a host type mismatch. Please check any connection information and verify the information is correct. The request was executed against a Deployment, Organization.
I have already tried installing Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2010 and the TFS compatibility GDR.
Any ideas?
That's true, but it's a completely different topic, isn't it? You want to connect to TFS 2017, not to use Visual Studio 2017 for AX development, right? At least your original question didn't mention VS as all.
TFS 2013 client libraries used by AX 2012 R3 CU9 should be able to connect TFS 2017 without any further setup. Simply try it to be 100% sure.
You may also consult Compatibility with Azure DevOps Server and TFS versions.
I have followed the below MS document and it explains that VS2017 is not compatible with AX 2012 R3 CU9.
Hello Martin,
Thanks for your input.
Will this pack work with R3 CU9?
I am using AX 2012 R3 CU9 , VS2013 and TFS 2017 update 1.
I don't think that the verified answer is correct.
AX 2012 uses client libraries of TFS 2013 from R3 CU8, and TFS 2010 in lower versions.
I think you should have upgrade a long time ago, but if you still uses a version lower than R3 CU8, you should still be able connect. You just have to install Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2010 and the TFS compatibility GDR.
Thanks Boris!
It means either I have to upgrade AX to CU12 or I can use TFS 2015. I believe TFS 2015 is compatible with AX 2012 R3 CU9. Right?
