The Transport failed to connect to the server issue in AX 2012 R2

Hi Experts,

We are trying to setting up batch to send a mail to user's with report attachment. During this process,

we are getting an error "Method 'send' in COM object of class 'CDO.Message' returned error code 0x80040213 (<unknown>) which means: The transport failed to connect to the server." in batch log. 

I think people are discussed about this issue in AX forum but still didn't find any answer in forum. 

Anyone help here to resolve this issue.

    Have you setup SMTP relay

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-email-functionality-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax.

    just cross check and revert back with your result

    Hi Amit,

    We are able to telnet the smtp port. There is no problem  with firewall also.

    In AX, we are getting the error, "Method 'send' in COM object of class 'CDO.Message' returned error code 0x80040213 (<unknown>) which means: The transport failed to connect to the server."

    Any other suggestion here to check?

    this is written for AX 4.0 but hope this will help

    Hi Amit,

    I am able to send a report without batch job.

    If I put the report in batch mode to send a report to users then I am getting the error.

    Kindly suggest here to resolve this issue.

    Hi,

    try to  debug the code in batch and you may get some clue. Mostly these issue comes when you are using client methods in batch/server side code.

    Try to test e-mail sending is working in batch without attachment.

    Next try with attachment to identify the issue.
