Hello everyone,

When i try to print product receipt report on cloud vm, its giving me this error: Something went wrong while generating the report. Please try again.
please note that i have used same project on both cloud and on-premise vms, its working fine on the on-premise VM, but cloud isnt working.

i did full build and report is being deployed successfully, also restarted the reporting services.

any idea how to resolve this issue?

    Hi,

As a start give those a try:

    1. Try to build the model with sync
    2. deploy the report
    3. clear usage data
    4. Try again to run the report

if it didn't work, maybe try and debug if u can catch anything

    Hi,
    1. Please see if the following blog and old thread are useful:
    https://rahulmsdax.blogspot.com/2019/08/something-went-wrong-while-generating.html
Solved: Reports execution and BYODB issue after applying Platform Update 21 (dynamics.com)
    2. Check the event viewer and see if any errors are displayed. Try debugging to see where it is damaged.
    Best Regards,
    Hana

    Hi,

If you restore the report from one environment to the other, its better to Deploy the reports through the command line as mentioned below or through Visual studio explicitly (if the cloud VM is a development VM).

    Command Line:
    • DeployAllReportsToSSRS.ps1 -Module <modelname> -ReportName <reportName>.Report -PackageInstallLocation “<%systemdrive%>:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory”

If this is a product receipt report that you are running through a Purchase order, then ensure that you have added the report under the Form Setup -> Print Management in your Cloud VM box.
