Hi Terri!
This issue can occur when data is missing or damaged in the GL10001 table (which holds the line data for journal entries). Let me provide an example where I force this to happen.
First, here is my journal entry:
Let's remove the GL10001 records for this journal, but leave the GL10000 alone:
Now, let's post the batch (as we can see the batch still shows the amount provided by the GL10000 header record):
And print the posting report:
So as we can see, the top half of the report is pulling the header data from the GL10000 table for the journals from the batch. The bottom half pulls the line information from the GL10001 table. Since there were no GL10001 records associated with the GL10000 header record, nothing was actually posted to the OPEN GL table (GL20000):
That's likely why the report is showing like that occasionally. My assumption is there is some sort of interruption when the GL batch is saved or created from another module or when it is being posted. Either the GL10001 data is missing entirely for the Journal Entry shown or the data is there but damaged in a way that breaks the link it has to the GL10000 header record and/or the batch being posted.
I hope that helps explain how this can occur. I'd recommend doing some investigation of the posted journals to make sure that one's having this issue actually did post. If you run into anything alarming or would like assistance with that, feel free to open a support ticket. We'd be happy to take a look!
