Hello,

I have my own AX 2012 R3 demo environment which is available in virtual machine and now i want to connect with AX mobile app's. I have already followed all pdf's which is provided by Microsoft but not able to connect with my AX environment. I just want to know that apart of Microsoft document do we need to do some extra setup in my machine.

Please guide

Hi Pooja,

Hello André Arnaud de Calavon,

Thanks for your reply but in your given guide details I have already followed this (How to Connect Mobile Apps with Microsoft Dynamics AX in local host demo environment ) guide and did all the setup's but now when I am connecting with mobile app it's giving error "Oops looks like something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes or contact your System administrator".

Hi Pooja,

This could be almost anything. It can be caused by not being recognized as project user. Maybe a wrong default company. Also you can get this error when you have entered wrong setup at the installation; e.g. the thumbprint. You can use a debugging tool like Fiddler on a Win8 desktop with the app installed. Depending on the traffic and erreor you see, you can find the cause of it. It.might be just something simple or more complex.

Hi Pooja,

If you log in with certain user credentials, AX has a setup where the Worker is linked to the user. This worker needs to be setup to be able to write time on projects.

If you have multiple companies in AX there is one default company per user. The mobile connector uses the default company. If time needs to be written in another company, you can also get this error.

The error message you get is a very generic error. So it is hard without other information to help you. It could be data or also setup related.

Hi Farhan,

Without the project worker setup, it is not possible to enter timesheets. So yes, this is mandatory.

Hi Pooja,

One additional question: Are you using a standard Microsoft virtual machine and if so, is it the version from customer/partnersource or is it deployed from Lifecycle Services? Or is it an own built machine? If so what domain name did you use (contoso.com or an own)?

Which device or devices are you using to connect?
