Printing an invoice instead of receipt at the POS

Hi,I have some doubts about POS and hope you can help me. I'm starting a new project on AX R3 and, from the point of sales, I need to print a sales receipt.
At receipt profile I found two options: Customer receipt and invoice. I would like to know which is the difference between them?
When should I print an invoice instead of a receipt and how will affect at the back office process?

Hello,

does anyone know how an invoice can be printed from POS instead of a customer receipt? In the Receipt formats there is standard Invoice (and other types of receipts) but after a transaction (and from the Journal at POS) only a customer receipt can be printed out.

Any help here is highly appreciated!

You can configure the receipt format as invoice format and accordingly you can print from POS.

What is "Receipt type" in Receipt Profile?

If you need Invoice to be printed on A4 paper, you need to go for customization (Blank Operation).

Go to the following link:

AVI/Retail/Setup/POS/Profiles

Click on Receipt Profile

Add receipt type: Invoice and run Register Scheduler.

Hello,

thanks for the answers so far. I have tried all your suggestions. I have 'Always print' on both Customer receipt and Invoice in the Receipt Formats form. They are both linked to a Receipt profile and printer is set up in the Hardware profile. All jobs are run.

After payment of transaction only the customer receipt is printed. What action will trigger printing the Invoice receipt type?

On top of that, the customer receipt is printed in 4 copies, any idea where this is coming from?

I am wanting to setup the same option and have setup the same way, however unable to find the trigger for the Tax Invoice.

Invoice will be printed when a sales order is invoiced from Retail POS. Sales order processing involves SO creation, Inventory reservation, picking, delivery and invoicing. As a user, you have option to create, pick, ship and invoice an SO from POS.

For a cash and carry transaction, only sales receipt and gift receipt is available.

Hi Shafeeque,

Thank you for your suggestion. If we do this customization, can we use both POS receipt as well as A4 invoice.

And the A4 invoice is required only for certain transaction.
