How to set the default Language for a Knowledge Article?

(0) ShareShare

My Dynamics 365 environment has its language format set to English (New Zealand).  However, when I create a new Knowledge Article the Language defaults to English - United States .  A bit of a trap since you can't change the language after you have created the Knowledge Article.

Does anyone know if there is a setting for the default language?

I have the same question (0)

    hi Hamish,

    Thank you for your query.

The article default language is based on your D365 language and use different languages, although you get the ability to translate the articles in multiple languages,

    Hi Protim,

Thanks for the quick response.  However, the behavior you described is not what I am seeing.  The Dynamics 365 language is set to English (New Zealand) but the Knowledge Article language defaults to English - United States. Is this expected?  What I am expecting is that the Knowledge Article language defaults to English - New Zealand.

I realise that I can "translate" and also change the Language before I first save the Article but that makes for a poor user experience.  I want the default language to be set correctly.

    Hi Hamish,

It has been logged as an Idea and Microsoft is considering it their roadmap.

    Hi Hamish,

Maybe you can use flow to update language field with hardcode of English - New Zealand when an KB article was created automatically.

    1.This is details of flow.

2.Get hardcode of English - New Zealand.

Go to any kb article record that language is English - New Zealand, and click it to go language(English - New Zealand) form page, you can get id of it from url(underlined in red).

    Hi,

    1) Look for the following options like for the selected user , try to set English,New Zealand as default.

Hi Venkata,  I've tried that and it doesn't work.  From what Pankaj G has said it looks like aligning the user or system settings format with knowledgebase default format is still to be developed by Microsoft.
