Variable Allocation "Based on" Trx Period?

Posted on by 5

I use Variable Allocations to allocate group insurance adjustments across all 90+ departments, The setup options include "Based On" either "Year-to-Date" or "Trx Period"  Can anyone tell me what "Transaction Period" means?  Is it the current month?  Ex - at the end of the month, I need to make an adjustment of $10,000.  I currently have it set to "Year-to-Date", so (I assume) it looks at the YTD balance in the Distribution Accounts.   I would prefer to use the current month's activity. If I select "Based On Trx Period", will it allocate it to the Distribution Accounts based on the balance for the month?

Thank you!Variable-Alloc.png

    Hi,

You are correct, the transaction period is the month in which the transaction was posted.

I hope this helps answer your question.

    I hope this helps,
