In order to answer your request, is it possible to share the following information as well:
- FA Ledger Entries registered on the original asset (and the new if entries exist already)
- the setting of the original and the new asset (fixed asset card) ... is "Use FA Ledger Check set to true?
- the set up of the "Depreciation Book".. is "Use FA Ledger Check set to true here?
Does it make a difference if you temporarily uncheck "Use FA Ledger" check?
