How to stop Database Logging

(0) ShareShare

Hello All,

I activated Database Log on our Production orders 2 days ago on status change. Apparently today, our system has been performing really slow eating up all the speed. So assuming it can be because I activate the log, I want to stop logging it.

Please correct me if I am wrong, that to turn it off I simply delete the log line from Database log on Production orders? I have done that but it has not made any change in our system overall speed.

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks

Parneet

That is how you remove database logging from a table.  You should be able to inspect the database log to verify that it is no longer logging for Production orders, just to be sure.

While it does have a small impact on performance, database logging for ProdTable is probably not responsible for your latest performance issues.  Without more data, it seems more like coincidence.

    Hi Parz

take care from activating database log on transaction especially if your system huge transaction and more changes daily

and why to delete direct from table?

you can clean your log from databse log form by clicking clean up log buton and select your table then ok

    Hi Parneet,

Yes, you just have to delete the line from the database log form.

Yet, if your performance is still poor I would doubt that the logging setup for your production orders is responsible for your performance issue.

Do you have any active other long-running processes?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

With help of SQL performance reports and AXperf or Trase parser tool, you would be able to find the culprit. First check if indexes of the tables in the database are fragmented or not. If they are too much fragmented, it can really slow down the performance.
