Can not see standard cubes in AX 2012

Dear All,

I am trying to deploy the standard cubes in AX 2012 R2. The steps I followed are as follows.

1. Installed Sharepoint 2010.

2. Installed EP.

3. I could see the role center page on home screen.

4. Run the SQL server analysis project and deployed the DynamicsAX project.

It took a quite long time, but when it is finished, I didnt see any cubes on the roles center page.

I tried restarting the server itself but in vain.

Can anybody please guide where I went wrong or what did I miss ?

Thank you.

    Hi Arpit,

Can you browse the SSAS Cubes directly on the analysis server? e.g. through SQL SSMS, BIDS, Visual Studio or even Excel?

What edition of SQL are you using: Standard, BI, Enterprise etc?

    Hi Terry,

I browsed via excel, it is showing data.

    we are using SQL standard.

    we are using SQL standard.

That's your problem. You need SQL BI or Enterprise (or Developer). Or more, technically, the edition of SSRS that is installed into Sharepoint needs to be BI or Enterprise.

It's not clearly written down anywhere, in my opinion, in any AX literature. Search for the phrase 'Power View' here:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993(v=sql.120).aspx

I think you'll also find that the 'Analyse data' buttons (e.g. on the All customers list page) don't work either.

    Hi Terry,

We have installed the cubes on the same version of SQL on different server and its working fine. I can see cubes over there.

Do you have the SSAS server and database defined at System Admin -> Setup -> Business intelligence -> Analysis Services -> Analysis servers?

    Hi.

After you deploy the SSAS project, you've processed ?, you process it from the SSAS to refresh the data, so users can view this data AX must add the SSAS (Star -> SQL Server Management Studio -> SSAS - > SSAS Properties -> Security (Add to AX users).

    Regards,
