Hello John, I was just going to add, it is normal for GP Utilities to show a blank screen during the upgrade and/or show the list of upgrade steps with a progress bar that doesn't seem to move......it'll be like that until it gets down later in the upgrade where it is doing the 'Load Stubs', 'Load Views', 'Load Triggers', part of the upgrade where it is less demanding on resources and it is simply dropping and re-creating objects.
The bad thing is, there isn't really any way to see what progress is being made by the GP Utilities until it snaps out of the 'Not Available' or blank screen.
We usually mention looking in Task Manager to make sure the SQL Server has activity to show processing is being done.
A dexsql.log would also show us, but that will drastically slow down the upgrade itself, so we don't recommend it unless you're actively troubleshooting an issue with the upgrade or Dynamics GP.
Worst case scenario, you can 'kill' GP Utilities via Task Manager, then truncate the duLCK system table and launch GP Utilities again, as it is smart enough to pick up relatively where it left off.
Again, this won't resolve the 'Not Responding' and/or blank GP Utilities window, but it is normal.
As well, after the upgrade finishes with the system and company databases upgrade, it may go to another window where you have the option to update SQL SRS reports and/or Excel reports. It is also common for this window to freeze showing a Next button that you cannot click, or a blank window that shows nothing at all. When this occurs, I usually recommend 'killing' GP Utilities again, and then re-launching GP Utilities after truncating the duLCK system table, to make sure the upgrade has completed successfully.
Hope this helps for the next time.
Have a great day.
