    Hi,

    No, there isn't.

It's all up to your own requirements.

    Hi Ryoji,

There is no conflict between these two approaches.

If you find that the two do not match, make sure you have selected the correct environment you are currently using in Power Apps.

Hi Nya, very helpful. Thanks, If these two ways to conigure are identical, there should be no conflicts right? My case was I saw is Power Apps parentcustomer id was nor required but Dynamics show required. Is this possible?

    Hi,

Actually, they should be the same both in Power Apps and Dynamics cause the setting UI in Power Apps is the new UI and the one in Dynamics is the old one.

You can access it by navigating to Advanced Settings > Settings > Customizations > Customize the System in Dynamics.

And the "Required or Not" for the fields are entirely up to your needs.

For example, the "Company Name" (also called Account Name) in my environment is "Optional".

Thank you Nya. After I lookied at the Power Apps, I realized some fields set differently on the Dynamics such as like. Here is my client dynamics shows last name/ Company name are both required. What is this? Can users set individually from Power Apps?

RE: default required field for Dynamics

    Hi Ryoji,

If a field is "Business required" in the Contact / Lead entity, and it is mapped as a form field and inserted into a marketing form, the form field should be set as required in your marketing form.

To check if it is required in an entity, please refer to:

Create and edit columns in Dataverse using Power Apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

Also, please refer to the following documentation to know more about marketing form:

Set up and manage marketing forms for use in marketing pages (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

There is an option in marketing form called "Update contacts/leads".

    pastedimage1652778867240v1.png

    • Update contacts/leads: Choose which types of records can be created or updated in response to a form submission. Usually you should leave this set to Contacts and leads, which will update both types of records and link them together as needed to support lead scoring and insights. However, you might instead choose to update Only contacts or Only leads if you want to prevent one of these types of records from being changed. If you choose Only contacts or Only leads, you can even allow form submissions without updating the contact or lead. This gives you the option to collect form data, then export to Excel create a custom Workflow or Flow to map the data to an entity of your choosing. More information: How form settings affect lead scoring and interaction records

So if it is "Only contacts", it only needs the form field mapped from the Contact entity to be required.
Similarly if it is "Only Leads", only the "Business required" fields from the Lead entity needs to be set to required, whereas if it is "Contacts and leads", then all the "Business required" fields need to be set to required.
