BOM Costing Phantom versus Item

I have a AX2012 RTM where costing of a lower level Bill of Materials component works it is an "Item" parent but it fails if it is a "Phantom" parent.

I am amazed that I can find nothing on LCS or any forum about this.

Has anybody else struck a problem with this please?

TIA, George

    Hi George

Did you ever get an answer on this as I'm having the same issue in AX2012 R3. If you try and run the cost calculation with the Formula line set as Phantom, it fails and cant seem to reference the active sub formula down a level. If you change the line type to Item, it runs fine. Just to make it even stranger, if when you have the line set to phantom, but then add the active sub formula in the 'sub BOM or Formula' field it runs! Which is weird as its the same Formula!

    Hi Ellie,

What did you do to handle this issue? Is the only way forward changing the type to Item?

What is the issue? That the phantom item is cost calculated or not? Is the issue an actual error message stopping the task of estimating?
