Has anyone else noticed an issue with GP after loading the 2019 year-end update for version 18? Graphics suddenly disappear while working in GP. By this I mean borders around buttons, checkboxes or scroll bars suddenly disappear. Logging out of GP and logging back in fixes it but this did not occur on 2018. I have done two upgrades so far (including my own system) and both upgrades are experiencing this issue. Both upgrades went to the year-end update instead of the October release so I do not know if this issue started with the October release or year-end. Below is a screen shot of some missing checkboxes:
Has Microsoft said anything about this issue?
Have a client experiencing this same issue in multiple screens. Log out and back in does fix it but says it is getting progressively worse over time and now happens 3-4 times per day. Version 18.00.0672
I would check to what if the latest version of .Net Framework is installed.
I have the same problem with GP 2018. Has anyone found a resolution for this?
Hi Richard,
I've noticed this as well on a couple of setups, even with GP 2018R2 (not 18.2) and it's most likely related to the windows platform (2012, 2016 or Win10) and/or .NET 4.7x
My feeling is that if you run this on a lower OS version, you won't run into this kind of issues, but I'd would have to validate this by using a Win7 or 2008 server.
We have a customer on GP 18.2 and server 2019 using RDS. They are ok first login, but if they log off and go back on, their graphics disappear as above. Until their RDS sessions are reset, this will continue. This does not happen directly on the server, only the RDS clients and with all Windows 10 versions on the clients.
Anyone have any updates on this? MSFT Server 2019 support says it's not them, but an application issue. I'm sure GP will say it's not them.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I have a client on 18.2 experiencing the same issue.
We had to roll our 18.2 client back to Server 2016 for RDS and it now works fine. Tech support said it is a conflict between Server 2019 and GP in general.
That is not much of a solution. I just did another GP.18.2.160 on W2012 and no one is having this issue. I have all the latest updates for SQL and the OS.
correct - everything works if the O/S is not W2019. So it will be ok on W2012, W2016, etc.
I miss-typed. The server was W2019. Are you using the W2019 server as a terminal server? Are the workstations all W10s? Are all the latest updates loaded on the server and workstations. What exactly did support tell you about W2019? What version of .net is installed?
