Hi Experts,
I am getting the error "The specified record query failed to apply and the form can't be opened" when I click the Custom alerts email link. I am facing the error only for Activities alerts for Change base alerts.
When I do debug, get to know (FormRun _formRunInstance)parameter has QueryRun variable(query) which is not set with the record in where clause.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi Muhammad Haaris,
Could you please provide the code that create the link.
You have to set the generator.EncryptRequestQuery to true, the encryption is mandatory for data security reasons and you cannot just remove it to make query string shorter, it will fall into an error and not open.
Refer to :docs.microsoft.com/.../create-deep-links
Thanks for your response Will.
Actually the Deep link[Email link] has been generated through Custom alerts rule with Change based alerts job[System administration].
But I have tried to create Deep link from the mentioned blogs. That's working fine. Facing issue with Alerts based deep links only for Activities Form

Also tried above two solutions too. No luck.
Hello Haaris,
Did you find any solution to the issue mentioned, I am also facing the same issue, I have a custom form, for which an email is getting generated by workflow cycle to a particular user with a link to the record to open the form, but gets the error "
The specified record query failed to apply and the form can't be opened.".
I tried by modifying the "Allow Root Navigation" and "Copy Caller Query" properties of the display menu item to YES, but it didn't worked.
I also generated a new link using the below blog code, but when pasted the generated link, get's the same error.

Any help would be great.
