
I am trying to make a word template where i want to group the quote line details under the quote lines, all in the same document.
Instead of having a template that generates a list with all the quote line details in the same list, I want to group the quote line details with the quote line. So if you have three quote lines (a, b c), where each of them have several quote line details associated with them, I want this to be grouped in three different lists in the same export / word template. There can be one or several quote lines depending on the project.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
The only way I have gotten this to work is using SSRS reports. Word Templates cannot filter. I ran into the same issue where I wanted to total all services and total all product. Word templates doesn't seem to work and I don't see any OOTB functionality that totals just services vs product.
another option is a 3rd party CPQ tool or contract management tool.
Honestly it is a little ridiculous. I wish I could use word templates in Project ops but complex quoting doesn't work well for word templates.
I am sure there are some customizations you can do with Flow and Automate that will make this happen but honestly it is just so frustrating that I am looking at 3rd party tools.
